Zoe has been doing really well.
She had a pretty difficult time coming out so the doctor had to use a suction cup to pull her out while Jess pushed. The cup pulled off three times so Zoe has a very big suction ring on her head. This also caused a big scab in the middle of the ring. This also caused her to have a pretty big "cone head." The "cone head" has already gone down most of the way but the ring is still there. Needless to say she does not like it if you go anywhere near touching it.
The doctor also said she had a "potentially fatially" low platelet count. He said this is part of the blood that fights infection. When they first checked her blood her count was 62. Normal for a baby is between 150 and 400. The second time they took her blood her count was 250.
So all is good.
We'll continue to post more of her story in the next couple days.
Also, Jess' mom came in yesterday afternoon. We are really glad she's here to help us out the next week.
