That Far Away Look...

Bye, Bye Mr. Bunny

As most of you know Zoe had become very attached to her Mr. Bunny. Well, her absent minded mother left it in Tenn. So we took her to the store to pick something else out. I found a pretty pink bunny almost exactly like the one she had. I put it up to her cheek to see if she liked it and she just turned her head away from it. I thought, "oh, no!I'm not going to be able to find a replacement." So we went on down the line and came upon this Pooh Bear blankie. I put it up to her cheek and she snuggled right up to it. I was kind of dissapointed because I didn't think that it was near as cute as the pink bunny, but I just decided that you can't choose what your kids like you just have to embrace it. Mr. Bunny was a good friend but he has long been forgotten. Bye, bye Mr. Bunny, hello Pooh!

This time I bought two so that we will have a back-up.

Bath Time with cousins

Zoe got to take a bath with the big girls at grandmas house. She really didn't know what to think of it.

Just Chillin'

Zoe loves being in the water. Yesterday she got to spend some quality time with her daddy cooling off in the pool.

Yeah! I'm sitting up!

Zoe is working so hard at trying to sit up. We got her this chair so she would feel like she was sitting up. She loves it.

It also has an activity tray that goes around it. It didn't take her long to figure out that the toys make noise.

Daddy's Little Princess

Zoe was so sad to miss her first Father's Day with her daddy. So she wanted to post a special picture of her and her daddy and say a belated Happy Father's Day to the best daddy in the world.

Mommy's big girl

Zoe and I were sick the week after we got back from Missouri. I guess two weeks of travel did us in. Anyway she was just too cute in her hat that I put on her so I had to take a picture.

Zoe loves to smile all of the time. Especially when someone is talking to her.

Just a picture to show you how big Zoe is. She now weighs 14 pounds. She is a chunk. My back can vouch for that. LOL

Jon and I get so excited about all of the little milestones that Zoe has already passed. The other day Jon was saying that it will be neat when Zoe can hold her own bottle. Well our little independant princess is already working on accomplishing that milestone. It came as a shock to me but I got sad at the thought of her holding her own bottle. I told Jon that I wasn't ready for her to start feeding herself. So hopefully she doesn't learn too quickly!

Zoe hates Tummy Time

Zoe is not a big fan of tummy time. But this montage was too funny to let pass up. She started out okay....

Then she decided it wasn't all it was cracked up to be...

She started to get really mad. You can tell by her red face...

Then she hiked her leg way into the air trying to roll over. It's kind of bad to laugh at your children but she had that leg a mile high!

Our Trip to Missouri

Zoe and I took a trip to Missouri to meet the rest of her family. We had a great time. It was the first time Zoe had been away from her daddy so he was very glad when we got home. Here are a few of the highlights.

My one and only nephew, Chad

All of the grandkids except Zoe. Trust me, they painstakingly decorated those cars.

Happy Father's Day to Me!

I would just like to take a moment and say happy father's day to myself.

Being a new dad is already a great and challenging experience. I already can't imagine our life without Zoe. As I listened to the Father's day message today at church I often thought of her.
I hope in 29 years she looks back and thinks I have been a great dad, a good role model and see's how I loved her and wanted what is best for her.

I also thought of my dad.
So dad, happy father's day to you too.
I hope I can be the kind of dad to Zoe you were to me.

Happy Father's Day!

Tennessee Trip

This week we went on a trip to Tenn with Jon's family. We had a great time. As you can see the view from our cabin was amazing. I would love to tell you all about it but that would take too long. Here are some of the highlights.
